BIO VASE is a collaboration with the London start up Ai Build. The brief was to create a vase collection that could showcase the unique possibilities of additive manufacturing.
Inspired by the forms found in marine life, BIO VASE explores shapes that would be very difficult to manufacture with conventional processes (such as injection moulding), to create a unique and contemporary formal expression. The home pieces are manufactured with recycled PETG, and expected to be on sale in September 2019. Some of the prototypes displayed here are PLA 3Dprints made out of filaments that contain metallic particles to obtain a shiny, polished finished.
